The aim is to systematically record, assess and document the condition of areas in connection with construction measures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Infrastructure expansion and temporary space utilisation<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Extensive construction measures are currently being realised in connection with the expansion of infrastructure. In addition to the actual impact areas, additional construction areas are often required on neighbouring land.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These include, among others:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Construction site equipment areas<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mounting surfaces<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Storage areas<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Even if these areas are not part of the direct impact area, they can still have an impact on the soil and the environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Consideration of environmental aspects in planning<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As early as the planning phase, care should be taken to avoid additional interventions in natural areas wherever that are particularly sensitive and worthy of protection as far as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Importance of mitigation measures and area assessment<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Environmental mitigation measures must be reliably implemented during the construction phase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A central component of this is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the finding<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the valuation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the documentation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">of the surface condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These form the basis for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the assessment of the effectiveness of mitigation measures<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Recommendations for recultivation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Interim management if necessary<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Timing and methods of the pedological investigations<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The pedological parameters are recorded:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>before utilisation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>after completion of the measure<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If required during the construction investigations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Laboratory analyses<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Recording of soil physical parameters<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The following aspects, for example, can be recorded as part of field investigations:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Natural storage density of the soil<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Existing impairments (e.g. compaction)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, undisturbed soil samples can be taken and analysed in the laboratory, for example with regard to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Dry bulk density<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pore space distribution<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Evaluation of soil chemical parameters<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to the physical properties, soil chemical parameters are also frequently analysed, including<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Yield potential (e.g. C\/N ratio, nutrient availability)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Environmentally relevant pollutant compounds (e.g. heavy metals, hydrocarbons)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Goal: Avoidance of permanent impairments<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The results of the analyses contribute to this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>avoid permanent impairments<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>to restore the original condition of the areas in a manner appropriate to the
