Description

Project description: Construction of a solar sewage sludge drying plant

Approximately 190,000 tonnes of sewage sludge are produced annually at one of the largest sewage treatment plants in Europe. Here, the world's largest solar thermal sewage sludge drying plant was built on a brownfield site of approx. 61,000 m². The structure was built on a former sludge site with several metres of sewage sludge that remained underground.

Preparation of a former sludge site for construction with dismantling of various old facilities (sludge bunker, temporary storage basin). Subsoil rehabilitation on an area of approx. 6 ha by means of vibrating stop logs. Construction of a new embankment up to 9 m high. Construction of a 750 m long groundwater outflow protection, consisting of well gallery and cut-off wall (single-phase diaphragm wall up to 22 m depth).

Our services:
Preparation of subsoil reports, geotechnical reports for approval and implementation planning, hazard assessments, soil management concepts, occupational health and safety concepts. Preparation of tender documents and expert geotechnical construction supervision.

Duration: 2018-2019
